Recently we took an impromptu trip to Mount St. Helens, hoping for a great view of the crater and curious to see if we could still some of the aftermath of the downed trees that we remembered from our own childhoods. We headed up to Windy Ridge, I drove while my husband and his friends rode their motorcycles, it was truly a beautiful day and a breathtaking site.
Last summer we had promised my son, who at the time was soaking up every ounce of knowledge on volcanoes that he could, that we would take him and show him the amazing view. We drove and drove only to be greeted with fog and TONS of it! The higher we got, the scarier it was and we finally stopped and accepted that we shouldn’t go any further. All we could see was a wall of fog….less then exciting for the two excited kids who spent a few hours driving. You’ll have to scroll down to see that funny photo.
